A steady space to
think things through.
I'm Carmela Williams, an integrative counsellor working with adults facing anxiety, low mood, life transitions and relationship difficulties. Sessions run in person and online, at a pace that's yours.
Carmela Williams, MBACP
Counselling that meets you where you are.
I trained as a counsellor out of a genuine interest and curiosity in people, and a wish to make a real difference in their lives. That curiosity has never left me — it's still what draws me into this work, session after session.
I work as a psychotherapeutic counsellor using a pluralist approach — meeting you where you are, and drawing on whichever way of working best suits what you need, rather than fitting you into a single method.
Outside of the therapy room, you'll usually find me walking my dog, pottering in the garden, or spending time with family and friends. I'm a sociable person at heart, and anything psychology-related tends to catch my attention — it's as much a personal interest as a professional one.

Common reasons people get in touch.
Every reason for starting counselling is valid — these are simply the ones I hear most often.
Anxiety & stress
Racing thoughts, tension, or worry that's started affecting daily life.
Low mood
Feeling flat, stuck or disconnected, even when nothing's obviously wrong.
Relationship difficulties
Recurring conflict, disconnection, or patterns you keep noticing.
Life transitions
Change you chose or didn't — a new job, a loss, a move, a shift in identity.
Confidence & self-worth
A persistent inner critic, or trouble trusting your own judgement.
Something else
Not seeing it here doesn't mean it's off the table. Get in touch and we'll talk.
